This AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping is an entry-level qualification that has been designed for those with little experience and knowledge of bookkeeping who wish to achieve a career in the field. During your studies on this course, you’ll learn more about how to process customer and supplier transactions, as well as receipts and payments. You’ll also learn more about bookkeeping controls such as journals, control accounts, and trial balances. You will need to complete your AAT exams to complete and achieve your qualification. You can choose to add your AAT exams to your enrolment. If you do not add your exams to your enrolment, you will be responsible for booking and paying for your exams. Completion of this Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping will provide you with credits you can use towards the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.

Duration study load
This course takes approximately 85 hours to complete. You will have a year from your enrolment date to complete your course, allowing you to work at your own pace.
Entry requirements
You must be 16 years old in order to enrol on this course, as well as have basic mathematical skills and IT literacy.

Assessment
This course is assessed by 4 tutor-marked assessments and 2 AAT computer-based external exams which are completed online at an external test centre and four tutor-marked assessments. This provides complete flexibility and the opportunity to progress more quickly if desired. Your tutor will help you to decide when you are ready to take these.
If you add on the exams, the exams for this course will be taken at a centre in Irthlingborough, near Northampton. We will book these assessments for you when you feel you are ready. Please note – when booking this as a package, it is important to note that we are only able to book assessments at the specified centre in Irthlingborough, and you must therefore be prepared to travel to the centre to complete your assessment.
If you don’t add on your exams, you will need to book and pay for these yourself, separately.
Delivery
Once you enrol, you will receive all course materials by post and receive full tutor support for a year by email. Once registered with AAT you will also have online access to online resources and additional support materials, including sample assessments.
