If you are interested in the world of business and its many applications, this course allows you to further your achievements gained from either an HND (Higher National Diploma) in Business, a Foundation Degree, SQA HND, or equivalent qualification. This Top-Up programme gives you the opportunity to continue studying business at degree level, achieving a bachelors within one year of study.

Entry requirements
- An HND/Foundation Degree or BTEC/HND in a business related subject with average merits/commendations in final year, or study equivalent to 120 Level 4 and 120 Level 5 CATS points
Assessment
Assessments take place through coursework only.
Delivery
Teaching on this programme is delivered through lectures, seminars and practicals, totalling 12 hours per week. You will also be expected to engage in independent study involving directed and self-directed learning, around 13 hours per week.
Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) is embedded throughout the course with tools such as the ‘Blackboard’ eLearning Portal and electronic reading lists that will guide your preparation for seminars and independent research.
Subjects
- In this module you will study areas of academic skills which have been identified as useful to you, this includes academic English writing but also includes computer skills
- This module will develop your skills in critical thinking and reflection, develop your ability to undertake a critical review of existing literature on a contemporary issue within the business and management disciplines as well as be able to write a critical literature review
- This module is designed for level 6 students in completion programmes to equip them with the necessary knowledge and transferable skills for their future employability and career development
- Students will also receive support in extending their academic skills so that they can take a critical approach to this module and their wider studies
- The rationale of the module is to develop a coherent understanding of the issues relating to theory and practical applications of cultural and organisational impacts on organisations and institutions in the global and international environment
- This module is designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge, skills and techniques to be able to analyse, formulate, create and develop the strategy behind Logistics and Supply Chain Management practices and procedures
- This module is designed to learn the skills of research, critical evaluation and apply theory to a contemporary issue
- Conduct an extended literature review involving the critical evaluation of appropriate concepts, theories, models, frameworks and principles against business and management practice (i.e. synthesis of theory and practice)
- This module is designed for students who have entered completion programmes at Level 6
- The overall aim of the module is to teach students how organisations can compete successfully in economic terms while managing their social and environmental responsibility
