Course overview
This CQI-approved PT206: Managing Supply Chains course is aimed at learners who wish to develop practical skills in the context of managing supply chains. Learners will leave the course with the capability to explain to others how supply chain requirements relevant to their organisation can be used to develop and manage the supply base.
This course will provide the practical skills required to manage a broad range of supplier activities. Learners will leave the course with the capability to assess the approaches taken by suppliers, support the selection of suppliers, measure supplier performance, manage supply chain risks and encourage suppliers to take a process approach to management and drive improvement.

What you'll learn
You will have the knowledge to:
- Assess the extent to which a supplier/external provider uses customer/stakeholder requirements and addresses risks and opportunities in their quality policy.
- Ensure that suppliers/external providers are encouraged to adopt effective process management and improvement.
- Assess the ability of the supplier/external provider to flow down requirements across their organisation.
- Support supplier/external provider selection, assessment and ongoing evaluation.
You will have the skills to:
- Facilitate the development of behaviours and attitudes that support an effective approach to supplier/external provider audits.
- Collaborate with suppliers/external providers to drive improvement in their processes.
- Ensure that the scope of external provider/supplier assurance activities is relevant to the supplier and its legal, regulatory, societal and standards compliance, including contractual aspects.
- Be a quality advocate, stakeholder advocate and systems thinker across the supply chain.

Entry requirements
It is recommended that learners complete FD107 Introduction to Management Systems.
Materials
All learners will receive a comprehensive set of training materials. As we are conscious of our environmental impact, our default position is that materials are provided digitally through our partner Mimeo Digital. This allows learners the flexibility to view materials on a laptop, tablet or to print if preferred.
We will also provide loan copies of the necessary standards for use during the course.
