A two-day advanced course for those who can already build with Claude Code and want to go further. The focus is on connecting tools to external services and building custom integrations the standard Connectors do not cover.

You will design and build a custom MCP server, work with APIs, and leave able to produce tools robust enough to hand to a developer if needed.

Day 1

APIs and connections

  1. What APIs are and how they work in plain English

  2. Connecting to Gmail, Slack and Google Sheets

  3. Building a compound tool that spans two or more services

Custom MCP servers

  1. How MCP works and what a custom server makes possible

  2. Designing a server before you build it

  3. Building, connecting and testing it live in the room

Day 2

Debugging and hardening

  1. A structured debugging method that works under pressure

  2. Security and reliability basics for tools people depend on

  3. Testing at depth, not just surface checks

Handoff

  1. Documenting your build so someone else can run it

  2. Writing a developer handoff document on your own project

  3. Where to take it next and what Claude Code cannot do alone

Entry requirements

  1. Completed Claude Code 101
    or equivalent hands-on experience directing Claude Code to build tools

  2. An active Claude account
    Pro plan recommended

  3. A working laptop
    with access to your own projects and files

  4. A service you want to connect to
    having a real use case in mind will make both build days significantly more productive
