About Agile
Agile is a methodology that is used by development teams all over the world. Originally Agile practices were used for software development, but that’s rapidly changed over the past few years and now Agile software development has expanded into a kind of global movement that’s far beyond the original Agile manifesto.
The Agile methodology now allows team members to work together to enable continuous change to respond to a customer-driven market where needs change constantly in a kind of customer collaboration – hence the idea of companies being “Agile”.
Some companies were “born Agile” – i.e. they used Agile practices from the start, like Spotify, who constantly updates their working software depending on customer feedback. Product development is based entirely on the end-user and the feedback loop and is sometimes seen as a kind of extreme programming.
Other companies have chosen to develop Agile project management or scaled Agile framework in specific areas of the organisation or development process.
