Professional Recognition

After completing the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting, you can apply for AAT Bookkeeping Membership (AATQB) to gain official professional recognition. This designation demonstrates your expertise to employers and helps you build a strong foundation for an independent bookkeeping practice.

The AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting opens the door to professional recognition through AAT Bookkeeping Membership (AATQB). This membership acknowledges your technical competence at Level 3 and allows you to use the designatory letters AATQB after your name, demonstrating to employers that you have achieved a high standard of knowledge in advanced bookkeeping and taxation.

AAT Full Membership (MAAT): To reach this senior status, you must progress to and complete the AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting. MAAT status is widely recognised by employers and is the benchmark for many accounting technician roles.

Licenced Practice: Once you achieve full MAAT membership, you can apply for an AAT practising licence if you wish to offer bookkeeping or accounting services to the public on a self-employed basis.
