The BCS Practitioner Certificate in Requirements Engineering is a practitioner-level qualification certified by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. It focuses on the discipline of requirements engineering: the structured way business analysts discover, define and manage what a solution must do.

You’ll work through the full requirements engineering framework — eliciting requirements through interviews, workshops and document analysis; analysing and modelling them; documenting them clearly (including user stories); validating them with stakeholders; and managing change and traceability as they evolve.

It is one of the two core modules of the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis. There is no formal prerequisite, though the Foundation Certificate is recommended first.

Assessment

The official BCS exam is an optional add-on available at checkout. It is a closed-book, multiple-choice exam with the following details:
