Course overview

Claude 101 builds a personal Claude operating system. Claude Advanced connects it to the world and extends what it can produce.

Over two days you will connect Claude to your external business tools through MCP Connectors: Gmail, Drive, Calendar, CRM, and build live workflows that cross multiple services. You will use Artefacts to create interactive business tools without writing code. You will direct Deep Research as a business intelligence function and apply Extended Thinking to complex decisions.

This course assumes you have completed Claude in 3 Days or have equivalent working knowledge of Projects, Skills and Cowork. It picks up where that course ends and adds the outer layers: connection, output quality, and scale.

Who's It For?

  1. Graduates of Claude in 3 Days
who want to extend their system and go deeper into what Claude can do

  2. Business owners ready to connect
who want Claude integrated with their business tools and workflows crossing multiple services

  3. Anyone with a working personal system
who wants to convert it into something their team can use without needing them to explain it

  4. Delegates booking the full Masterclass
taking Days 4 and 5 as part of the complete five-day Claude Masterclass

What you'll learn

On Days 4 and 5 you extend your Claude system into the world, connecting it to your business tools, building outputs at a higher level, and converting what you built personally into something your team can run without you.

Connect external tools via MCP
link Gmail, Drive, Calendar, CRM and more to Claude and build workflows that cross multiple services

Build Artefact-based business tools
create calculators, dashboards and report generators without writing code, and use the storage API to make them persist data across sessions

Direct Deep Research
run it as a business intelligence function that produces specific, structured, actionable findings, not a search upgrade

Apply Extended Thinking
use Claude on complex decisions and multi-variable analysis, prompting it to challenge your thinking rather than support it

Build for your team
write system instructions that work for people who weren’t in the room, document workflows clearly, and convert your personal system into a shared one

Create a 90-day roadmap
leave with a written implementation plan you will actually follow: Month 1 personal, Month 2 team deployment, Month 3 optimise and extend

Course outline

Pick up where Claude in 3 Days ends: two days connecting your system to external tools, building at a higher output level, and making it usable by your team.

Day 1

MCP Connectors and Artefacts

By the end of the day you have live MCP connections running, a connected workflow tested, and an Artefact-based tool built on your own use case.

MCP Connectors

  1. What MCP connectors are and how they connect Claude to external services

  2. Gmail, Google Drive and Google Calendar: connected and tested live in the room

  3. CRM connectors: HubSpot and Salesforce – what is possible today

  4. Slack, Zoom and Calendly: communication and scheduling connectors

  5. When to use a connector versus pasting content directly

  6. Security and data handling: what connectors can access and what they cannot

  7. Building a workflow that runs across multiple connected services in a single task

  8. Hands-on: connect at least two tools and run a live end-to-end workflow

Artefacts

  1. The Artefact types and what each one is designed for

  2. Building business tools as Artefacts: calculators, dashboards, proposal scorers, report generators – without code

  3. The Artefacts storage API: tools that hold and recall data across sessions

  4. When to use an Artefact versus a document or Cowork output

  5. Hands-on: build one Artefact-based tool from your own business use case

Day 2

Deep Research, Decisions and the Team Layer

Claude is doing serious analytical work and your system is built for others to use. You leave with a documented team-ready workflow, a Deep Research output and a 90-day roadmap you will actually follow.

Deep Research and file intelligence

  1. Deep Research as a business intelligence function, how it differs from web search

  2. How to direct it for specific, structured and actionable findings

  3. Chaining research output into Projects, decisions and documents

  4. What Claude can do with your PDFs, spreadsheets and documents beyond reading them

  5. Hands-on: run a Deep Research query on a real business question

Extended Thinking and AI-augmented decisions

  1. Extended Thinking: what it is, when to use it and how to interpret the output

  2. Using Claude to support decisions, not just complete tasks

  3. The decision support workflow: gather context, analyse, challenge assumptions, synthesise, frame options

  4. Financial analysis and scenario modelling with Claude as a thinking partner

  5. Hands-on: run a complete decision support workflow on a real business decision you are facing

Team architecture and advanced build

  1. The difference between a personal Claude system and one a team can use

  2. Writing system instructions that work for people who were not in the room

  3. Standard operating procedures as living Claude knowledge

  4. Shared prompt libraries and team Projects: build once, used by everyone

  5. Documenting a workflow so a team member can run it without your help

  6. Hands-on: convert your Day 3 personal Project into a team-facing version

The 90-day roadmap

  1. Month 1: your personal Claude system running reliably across your core workflows

  2. Month 2: team deployment, at least two team members using shared Projects

  3. Month 3: optimise, extend and identify workflows still not running on Claude

  4. How to measure whether your Claude system is actually working

  5. When to upgrade from Pro to Team or Enterprise and what you get

required for MCP Connectors, Deep Research and Artefacts

About AI First Training

AI First Training is the UK's dedicated Claude training company. We teach one tool, and we teach it properly. Most AI training spreads thin across many tools and leaves teams dabbling. We go deep on Claude, because depth is what changes how people actually work. Our flagship is Claude in 3 Days: a three-day, hands-on intensive capped at ten people, run in person in London and live online. Day one covers Claude, prompting, and system prompts.Day two covers Memory, Projects and Skills. Day three is Cowork and a Build Day, where each delegate builds working tools of their own. We also run one-day courses built around specific roles, including Claude for Sales, Marketing, Design and small business owners, plus bespoke in-house training shaped around a team's own work. The approach comes from a long training background. Founder Mark Young spent more than a decade running one of the UK's leading creative and software training companies, delivering classroom training to large brands and in-house teams across the country. AI First Training brings that same classroom-led, hands-on method to Claude. The focus is always on the outcome your business needs, with the depth of a single tool underneath. Delegates leave able to use Claude in their day-to-day work.
