Duration study load

The Award carries 50 hours of Total Qualification Time and a minimum of 16 Guided Learning Hours. Access is provided for 90 days.

Study time is 6 to 9 weeks per unit. A study timetable is provided to keep learners on track. Completion time depends on the learner's experience, study pattern and assessment progress.

Delivery

Delivered entirely online through Acudemy's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Learners have access to all course materials, recorded content and resources from day one, with a UK-based tutor supporting them throughout. Virtual live inductions run monthly.

Entry requirements

Learners should be at least 18 years old and have a good standard of written English. Current or previous workplace experience is helpful, as it allows learning to be applied to real management situations.

The Award is a practical starting point. Learners can progress to the CMI Level 5 Certificate in Leading AI Transformation, which builds on the Award with additional learning on responsible leadership and ethical AI adoption. The CMI Level 5 Diploma in Leading AI Transformation covers change, ethics, team capability, decision-making, AI projects and leadership practice, and is suited to those playing a broader role in AI transformation.

Professional Recognition

To achieve the CMI Level 5 Award in Leading AI Transformation, learners must complete at least one unit and achieve a minimum of 5 credits. Learners who successfully complete the unit and its assessment will be awarded the CMI Level 5 Award in Leading AI Transformation.

The Award supports wider professional development with CMI. Chartered Manager status depends on CMI's own eligibility criteria, management experience and assessment requirements.

Assessment

One assignment per unit. There are no written examinations. Assessment is completed through work-based written assignments, allowing learners to apply the qualification directly to practical management situations.
