One of the most popular careers that business administration graduates enter into, is accountancy. If you are still studying your course or haven’t even applied yet, then don’t worry, you can get into accounting through Business Administration without necessarily taking any other admin courses. Business Administration is very relevant and will help you when you work in accountancy. You will however need to undertake accountancy exams through work to become qualified.

Project management is perfect for those who love working in a team, managing projects and working in a high pressure environment. Utilising more of the business aspects of Business Administration than the financial elements, project management is an essential part of many industries. As a project manager you can work in IT, marketing, construction or engineering to name a few, and carry out daily tasks such as:

This is a fantastic career for those whose key skills are in the organisation, management and the overseeing of business operations. As a business administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring that the business runs smoothly with regards to finances, projects, clients and day to day tasks. For businesses around the globe, business administrators are the key to keeping the daily operations of a business running, meaning that you can be sure you will never be out of the job.

4. Business Analyst



Working as a business analyst, you will be required to use data to inform business decisions and strategies that ensure the success of the company. For those who have a mind for critical thinking, problem-solving and analysing and interpreting data; this could be the job for you. As a business analyst, your decisions will have a huge impact on the business you work for, and you can ensure you are irreplaceable for your employer if you do a great job. Some of the skills you will need as a business analyst include:

  • Knowledge and experience of strategic business models

5. Chief Executive Officer



This prestigious position of CEO takes a lot of work and experience but is definitely achievable if you have completed a Business Administration degree or certificate. As a CEO, you will be the driving force of the company, making final business decisions, overseeing project progress and taking note of the overall success of the business. As a CEO, you will need excellent communication, management and organisational skills as well as in-depth knowledge of the business. 

How to Become a CEO: Following your qualification, you will likely need to have a postgraduate certificate or MA in order to become a CEO. Once you have a great theoretical knowledge of business, gain as much work experience as possible and you can work your way up or even start your own business.
