  • Uncover the economic, organisational, and cultural underpinnings required to build skills and better understand the managerial challenges facing global organisations of all types and sizes.

Strategic management

  • Learn about strategic market analysis, increase risk evaluation skills and knowledge of global market opportunities. Explore intercultural aspects and strengths and weaknesses of global organisations.

Advanced research methods

  • This module develops skills and expertise in business research methods to help businesses improve performance, maximize shareholder value, and meet ethical and moral compliance standards.

Master thesis

  • With the guidance of a supervisor, prepare a written dissertation focused on a major field of study. Scientifically evaluate and critically discuss a chosen issue and suggest possible solutions.

    Develop the knowledge and skills to apply theoretically sound and practice-relevant operations management concepts to decision-making. Examine human decision heuristics and preferences.
  • Seminar: Managing people and organisations
    In this seminar module, you’ll explore research related to managing people and organisations and write an essay on a specific topic to demonstrate your knowledge.
Electives B

Please note: You have the option to pursue either an MSc Management degree or obtain a management degree with a specialisation (MSc Management with Specialism).

  • MSc Management: You need to complete four modules from the Elective B category. You will achieve the generic full master’s award (without specialism).
  • MSc Management with specialisation: You need to complete all four elective modules assigned to the corresponding specialism in the Elective B category. You will achieve the full master’s award with a specialism.

    Explore advanced mathematical techniques, AI methods and data processing. This module provides the framework to create value from data. Learn to identify use cases and evaluate data-driven methods.
  • Analytical software and frameworks
    Learn about commercial and open-source cloud computing, distributed computing, and machine learning. This module introduces relevant frameworks and software used in modern data science projects.
  • Data utilisation
    This module introduces case-based applications that take advantage of regularities and patterns found within continuously generated texts, images, or sensor data.
  • Application scenarios and case studies
    Work on application scenarios for data science in selected sectors. Learn about practical issues, create a project plan, and present your design document.

Engineering management:

  • Internet of things
    From smart homes to smart cities, smart devices to smart factories, examine aspects connected to the internet of things (IoT). Learn about use cases and risks – from customer and business perspectives, and the technical foundation of the internet of things.
  • Manufacturing methods industry 4.0
    Understand the fundamentals of processes based on traditional, standardised manufacturing techniques. Examine the consequences of the digitisation and networking of production facilities.
  • Product development
    This module provides business and problem-solving methods to develop products. Learn about design tasks, alternative lean product-development approaches, and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
  • Design thinking
    Learn about theoretical and practical applications and how to improve your design process. This module provides a hands-on introduction to human-centred design via the Design Thinking method.

International marketing:

  • Seminar: AI and society
    Humanity has made huge advances in AI. Study the literature and then join in a thought-provoking discussion about the societal, economic, and political implications of these developments.
