The Course
The NEBOSH International General Certificate is separated into the 2 Units. Unit IG1 and IG2. Once you finish the course and feel you are ready for the exams, we’ll help and support you along the way. We’ll ensure you are not alone during this process, as we know it can be a bit stressful. Don’t worry! We’ll walk you through the process.
The Venue
NEBOSH has decided to change the exam process for the IGC. They are moving their exam process to open book, where you take the exams at your own home.
The Exam – Exam fees are just £225
The IG1 is an OPEN BOOK EXAM that you take in the comfort of your own home. The IG2 is the practical part of the exam process. Exams are held four times per year on dates set by NEBOSH. The practical (IG2) is a workplace risk assessment and management report. Don’t worry though…..we don’t come to look over your shoulder nor does NEBOSH.
What we will do, though, is give you guidance and support prior to your IG2 submission to ensure you are confident and ready. The extra guidance is part of what we do and is included in the price you pay for the course!
The Marking
Like other NEBOSH qualifications, the International General Certificate exams are assessed and marked by NEBOSH examiners. Once you have completed your exam papers, all the exams are then sealed and sent back to NEBOSH for rigorous marking and checking to ensure maximum accuracy and consistency.

What is the exam process, and where can I take it?
For the NEBOSH National General Online Certificate Course, you have two parts to the exam process. The first exam is called the IG1. This is an open-book style exam that you can take at home. The second part of the exam is the IG2. This is a practical where you do a workplace inspection at your place of employment (or a suitable place that doesn’t have to be yours) and then do a management style report.
What are some advantages of e-learning?
With eLearning, you will save both time and money. Think of it this way…..if you have to take a classroom-based course, you are stuck in a classroom trying to keep up with the pace of the tutor and the class. With eLearning, you can learn at your own pace. If you don’t understand something, go back and review it. Spare yourself the embarrassment of raising your hand and asking a question in the middle of class.
Also, you do not have to worry about getting in your car, using your own fuel, fighting traffic, sitting in a cheap, uncomfortable chair and eating stale sandwiches for lunch every day.
Instead, pull up your comfy chair or couch, grab a nice cup of your favourite beverage and fire up your laptop. If you only have one hour to dedicate that day, that’s fine. If you have four hours, great! It’s up to you.
As for the money you save, it’s potentially thousands if you calculate lost work!
