Ideal for students who are looking to develop their counselling skills to benefit their work, this course will allow you to gain an understanding of the fundamental theories and frameworks in counselling. Studying this diploma in counselling skills provides you with an opportunity to learn how to apply core theories, study ethical frameworks, understand how to develop counselling relationships and find out more about diversity and discrimination. After completing this nationally recognised qualification, you will be able to take your studies to a higher level, use the skills you have gained to complement your current role, or progress to a role in which counselling skills are required. This course is approved by the ACCPH (Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists), at the end of this course students will be able to join and become a member of the ACCPH. The ACCPH is an independent self-regulated professional body for counsellors, psychotherapists and hypnotherapists.

Entry requirements
Learners must be at least 16 years old to enrol on this course. No placement is required; however, learners will need to provide video-recorded evidence for some assessments. You will need to ask a family member or friend to assist you with the counselling role-play aspect of your video assessments. Studying a level 2 counselling qualification prior to this course may be useful, but it is not mandatory.

Assessment
All units are internally assessed. Some units require demonstration of the counselling skills you have gained which will be assessed through recorded role play. Units will contain a mixture of written assignments and videos. Please note: you will need to ask a family member or friend to assist you with the counselling role-play aspect of your video assessments.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will achieve an NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills.
This qualification is worth 40 credits.
With this counselling diploma, you can achieve 24 UCAS points based on the grade you achieve.
